Nestled away at Dobroyd Head, Reef Beach is a picturesque spot to spend a day relaxing by the sea this spring. This sandy beach offers spectacular views over Sydney’s North Harbour, which extends all the way to Manly. For seventeen years, Reef Beach was known as one of Sydney’s foremost nude beaches, but this title was removed in 1933 much to the dismay of those wishing to bare all.

Whether you’re making a pit stop at Reef Beach whilst walking the famous Manly Scenic Walkway or heading to the coast for a whole day at the seaside, you’ll be thoroughly rewarded, as this beach is truly stunning. Try taking a refreshing dip in the calm blue waters and don’t forget to pack a picnic if you plan on spending the day there.

Located within Sydney Harbour National Park, the whole area is enveloped in Aboriginal and historical significance. If you decide to go adventuring during low tide, you may even be able to catch a glimpse of Aboriginal carvings in the rocks.

Once you’ve spent time relaxing on the beach there are plenty of other things to explore in the area and to occupy your time. Why not head to the nearby Arabanoo Lookout at Dobroyd Head? Here you’ll get wonderful views over both North and South Head, as well as the Pacific Ocean. If you’re visiting in the right time of year, you may even see some whales migrating off the coast.

If you need more information on Reef Beach, refer to their official website.
