Mount Exmouth Walking Track

In the heart of the Warrumbungle National Park, take the chance to reach the 1206m peak views of the Warrumbungle range. The long, but strongly rewarding, walking track will take you to a breathtaking 360 view from the summit of Exmouth.

Plan a day out as the 8.5km (one way) journey will take you along to experience the beautiful scenery that surrounds you as there is varied vegetation and basalt formations that make up some of the few remaining pieces of the original volcanic shield. Also keep an eye out for kangaroos that can be seen feeding on grassy flats.

The best time to visit is during spring and summer months where you can take the chance to camp out under the stars or just go in the great outdoors for some fresh air. During early spring, wildflowers are in bloom including a huge variety of wattle flowers while the summer is the perfect time to embrace the amazing weather and bright views around you.

Parking is available at the Split Rock car park and from there you can continue your journey. Be sure to bring your sunscreen and hat for those sunny days and bring water to keep you hydrated for the long, but absolutely worthy, lookout experience.
